What is Far Infrared therapy?
Far Infrared therapy is a naturopathic concept based on the natural healing processes in the human body. These processes are stimulated by Far Infrared rays (FIR) which penetrate deep into the body, gently elevating the body’s temperature to activate bodily healing mechanisms. The human body naturally emits FIR, the goal is to get as much of it back as possible. This is achieved with Bio Ceramic fabric which is what our Far Infrared therapy clothing is made from.
Far Infrared rays are everywhere!
Far Infrared rays are invisible light rays detected between the visible spectrum and microwave spectrum. FIR rays have the longest wavelength and are felt as heat. Solar energy contains FIR rays between the range of 10-20 microns and the human body generates between 8-14 microns. When its intensity is high, we feel healthy and are able to overcome aliments. When the Far Infrared rays begin to decline we are subject to disease and illness and tend to age more quickly.
Is Far Infrared therapy safe?
Far Infrared rays are not like ultraviolet rays which can burn your skin. FIR rays are completely healthy and safe, especially since the body naturally emits Far Infrared heat. This energy helps relieve joints, muscles, tissues, increases micro-circulation, cell communication and speeding the oxygen flow.
Brief History of Far Infrared Technology
Dr. Tadashi Ishikawa, a member of the Research and Development Department of Fuji Medical, received a patent in 1965 for a zirconia ceramic infrared heater used in the first healing infrared thermal systems. Medical practitioners in Japan were the only ones using infrared thermal systems for 14 years. In 1979, they were finally released for public use. The technique has been further refined into infrared thermal systems that have been sold in the United States since 1981. One use of infrared heat in the United States has been in the form of panels used in hospital nurseries to warm newborns.
